SFAR's Board of Directors has reviewed and adopted the mandatory changes to rules and business procedures around listing attribution at the 2021 NAR Annual Conference in San Diego. MLS Policy Statement 7.85, rule 12 mandates that all listing displays must display attribution information for the Listing Firm (Broker), and the new part 12 updates this to specify that an email or phone number must ALSO be displayed.

MLS Policy Statement 7.85, Internet Data Exchange (IDX) Policy, part 12:

12. An MLS participant’s IDX display must identify the listing firm, and the email or phone number provided by the listing participant in a reasonably prominent location and in a readily visible color and typeface not smaller than the median used in the display of listing data.

This appears in our SFARMLS Rules & Regulations in Section 12.16 (D) that covers the display of cooperating Brokers' listing information through Internet Data eXchange (IDX). SFAR will provide two mechanisms for updating your information in the MLS. One you can use immediately today, and a second mechanism that is being added to the MLS system in an update we expect to have during summer of 2022.

NOTE: The timeframe for mandatory compliance and enforcement on this Policy Statement has been extended until September 1, 2022 to allow for a uniform implementation across MLS platforms and vendor systems that must comply.
